The Routine

One thing that is constant in many of our lives is a skin care routine. If you are new to this or don't know what a skin care routine is, keep reading, this is for you. For those who know and have a skin care routine, maybe modeled after an influencer's 7-step regimen or more of a wash and rinse type of routine, keep reading. This is the H Co. routine to adopt in your everyday life.

The hard truth is that trending routines on social media can be scary and even confusing to get started with! So take the first step right here, together.

Let's begin!

So what is a skin care routine, and why is it so important?

The largest organ in the human body is, well, you guessed it, the skin! It plays a crucial role in holding our organs inside our body and, at the same time, protects us against external factors. The same way we wash our body or brush our teeth, our skin requires us to go the extra mile to maximize its functionality.

While we can't slow down the aging of our skin, with a consistent skin care regimen, we can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, dark spots, and sun damage and quite successfully manage some skin concerns, such as dry and oily skin. Another benefit of consistency is that it can challenge us to follow a more active life in exercising and eating healthy.

Ok ok, we get it, skin care is essential. How do I start?

Starting is easy, but maintaining it and putting in the effort is challenging. Sign-up for our monthly email reminders that check your progress!

Firstly, we need to find out what type of skin we have. Everybody is different and unique, so is our skin. What works for our best friend or favorite influencer might not work for us!

We don't need to go to a dermatologist or take an online survey to tell us our skin type. It's actually very simple and easy!

Does our skin get a bit shiny and greasy?

Then most probably, our skin type is oily.

What about if our skin gets dry during the winter?

Then probably our skin type is dry.

Yes, I get it, but what if I get a combination of both oily areas and dry areas?

It's fine. Not everyone fits into those categories; some are a combination of both, which means that it is entirely normal.

Ok, so I found my skin type; now what?

Now we get to the foundation of the routine; it's not that complicated.

The Routine

There are two basic but crucial steps to every routine – cleansing and moisturizing.

Depending on whether you stick to a morning routine or a night routine, we can add a few more steps.

For example, our morning routine should include washing with a cleanser and moisturizing, whereas in our night routine we can add a weekly cleansing mask.
